This is the second part of blogging advice for legitimate online businesses regarding the use of pictures on blog posts.

If you run a series of related blog posts, why not “brand” the series with a strong image at the start of each post to improve the topic recognition and sense of continuity among visitors to your blog. To find a suitable image for that kind of project, you can easily run a search on Google search for images that you are permitted to share on your blog, either free or for a fee.

Some other blogging advice for bloggers who enjoy photography, would be to upload your own photos, especially photos that tell a good story that can be related in some way to the theme of your business. It could of course be a photo that is directly related to your business, or it could be something more fanciful - the more fanciful and off the wall, the better!

Maybe you have a great picture of a favorite pet or even a funny family photo. Use your imagination and let it rip! If you are not a photographer, you can always browse the Internet for photos that have been published under a Creative Commons license. Flickr.com is a good place to begin your search.

There is another reason why you should think about adding images to your blog posts, and that is to enhance the search engine optimization of each post you write for legitimate online businesses . When you upload an image you can add an ALT tag as part of the image code and include the keywords for your post in the tag, assuming that they are relevant to the image as well as to the post!

Think of your blog pictures as auxiliaries or outriders for your text. The aim of an image is to enhance, not to dominate, to attract visitors to your blog post, but not to keep them transfixed on the image. The main thing is still the message in the text itself.

Therefore you should not put of posting to your blog just because you can’t find a great picture or you don’t have time to search for one. You need to boost the traffic to your legitimate online business by blogging, even if it’s just a short one. But do it regularly.

However, when time permits, adding a blog picture to your post is a great piece of blogging advice and is decidedly a good thing to do to draw more eyes to your blog. But you also have to write well to finish the job your image started!
